Matthew McConaughey is no doubt an actor with great appeal and charisma. His latest movie ‘Mud’ directed and written by Jeff Nichols definitely put him in the list of some of the great American actors.
In the movie, he plays the role of starving, full burnout fugitive hiding on an island in Mississippi. It is on this island; he meets two local kids named Neckbone and Ellis and shares his story with them.
He is actually waiting for a girl and wants to flee away before the thugs get hold of him. The two boys live on a small boat and from here on the movie the actual story starts. The story revolves around the boy named ‘Ellis’ who is quite sensitive and of the belief that he actually loves some girl from school.
The parents of the kid are planning to break up and it is at this time he meets ‘Mud’, the role played by Matthew McConaughey.
Mud offers the kid with something to believe in life and the boys help Mud and his girlfriend (Reese Witherspoon) to get away from the island. There is no doubt that the movie is honest and involving but things could have made better during the climax.
