The massive opening of the Disney and the Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 has made $195.3 million internationally from 42 markets and has in the way beaten the global blockbuster of the last year, Avengers, that had made a debut making $185.1 million overseas.
The observers of the box office have agreed that the Iron Man 3 becomes the sequel to the last year’s Avengers. There are speculations going around from the mammoth opening of the Iron Man 3 on whether this tentpole would match or go beyond Avengers that had made a debut with $207.4 million dollars in North America.
Dave Hollis, the Disney President of the worldwide distribution, was not seen making speculations about the film but has been quoted as saying that it would be an “understatement” to say that the entire team is “beyond encouraged”.
Kevin Feig, the president of the Marvel Studios, has made several records overseas with Iron Man 3 over Latin America and Asia Pacific, including individual countries as well, like Hong Kong, Argentina, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The Iron Man 3 has been opened released ahead of the May 3 launch in North America just like in the case of Iron Man 2 in 2010. The returning cast members are Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow while Downey teams up with Shane Black.
